2 New Website Scams

If you use a browser, you are susceptible to these two threats, but knowing one simple trick can save you from both and many more website scams. The Gmail phishing scam is the first scam we’ll cover.  You’ll click a link thinking it’s taking you to Gmail.  Then you get what looks like a legitimate Gmail login screen.  But guess again! How can you tell?   You look for the little green padlock, and as you can see in the 2nd image, it just ain’t there....

Website Security: MeetUP

I’d just left the Tampa Bay PHP Developers/Freelancers Meetup group at Kaiser University in Tampa, (June 2016), and I was very disappointed.  The topic of the night was website security – “Web Security, Php, Mysql, Html, Etc. Domain Name Servers When you “buy” a domain name, you’re really just sort of leasing it, for a number of  years. (Don’t...

Evolution Theme Problems

Changing Evolution Theme home page headings I love Eloquent Themes, but like all these great theme companies – RocketTheme.com, Web-Dorado.com, etc. – you usually get a few bugs in each theme or plugin – no extra charge! What I came across today was more of an oversight than a bug – various headings on the beautiful home page of the Evolution Theme, were hard-coded into the home.php file! I could not find a solution on the Eloquent Themes website, so...
